my new plates

the plates, found at kmart, went from $25....to $19.....to $12.....to $8. i've been watching them for months, they are very swanky and very marimekko, which has been one of my style icons for years, so i needed them.
the plates we got when we got married, all from pier 1, are now all a) broken; 2) chipped; D) not microwave safe; 5) boring. that is not descriptive of my marriage, but the plates , let's just say it, ugh.
these plates are swanky, daring, and i mean....if you have been watching the poor plates on the discount rack go from $25 for a 4 piece place setting to $8, you have to feel sorry for the lonely plates.
they have a new home in my cabinet.
my all time favo is Fiestaware. that picture, when you click on it....that picture is so beautiful to me-i love the style, the vintage appeal, the colors.....mmmmm yum!
but when i got married, i wasn't over the top outgoing, so i couldn't commit to the plates-i wanted to commit to andy. so we got boring neutral beige everyday plates.
and now i crave that fiestaware, but these fruit plates will tide me. so come over for dinner and we'll eat some yummy junk on my funky plates. and we can even microwave it.
