greenwood what!

greenwood is a cute little...downtown. everything else i saw here looks pretty....sassy. i strolled around, drank some more raspberry tea, and my husband surprised me with the offer of staying another night since he has been gone all day working in indianola and i've been here in the hotel. he also let me go shopping. do i know this man?
we woke up, early i might add. we headed to the swanky breakfast on the roof terrace and it was so dang tasty. andy had to head to work so i....headed back to bed! but i slept just a bit because i knew i had to wake up and check out and figure all that stuff out.
did some phone counseling with my assistant pastor, which was helpful. then andy called and asked me to see if we could get another night. i called theresa and begged her to stay one more night with kate and without me and she was so sweet to say yes. she is like a sister. she said kate had a rough night because kate didn't know what was going on but that she woke up excited to go to school so she took her!
i crossed the street for lunch at the Mockingbird Bakery, and it was so so delicious. they make their own bread and it was great. i read the newspaper while i ate. that is pretty nerdy but i wanted to do the jumble.
shopped after lunch, they have about 6-7 cute stores all on the same street. i got some funky earrings and then went over to the alluvian spa because they have a boutique from my favorite make up artist, amy head. i got into amy head in the middle of my post partum depression, and it was amazing-they take such good care of you and really teach you what to do. my mom has been giving me gift certificates ever since but it's hard to actually get to her studios since there aren't very many.
i made an appointment and they waived the $50 fee since i am already a customer of hers. (good thing!) i got a whole makeover with a fun girl named kelly and she really knew a lot about what she was doing. she was giving good advice and i ended up only buying a few things. they also write down everything they use on you so that you can remember it later and pick it out at a later time.
they also carry phytomer and tocca skin care and fragrances, and those are both so delicious. i got some make you melt perfume and lotion and i hope andy will like it.
so i feel like a new woman. i do miss kate, but i know she is in good hands.
oh and how in the heck am i paying for all this? i've been saving money up for our anniversary, which is on the 20th, that's how. babysitters are hard to come by, so you have to take your chances and opportunities when you can.
if any of you ever make it to greenwood, ms or just need a get away, the alluvian is a great spot. i've been to almost as many hotels as samantha brown on the hotel channel, and i've had good times, great times, and poor times. this one is pretty swanky.
i've been doing some work for lagniappe this afternoon on my laptop and phone (thank you, God, for a job like this) and it's been going well.
may little kate rest easy in her bed tonight, may theresa have the strength to help her and get some rest, too, and may andy and me be more restored in our marriage together. we are both workaholics and it comes very naturally for us since we have both owned our own businesses, but sometimes you just have to stop. get away. take a break.
because there is no laundry here, someone came and made the bed for me, and yes i am sitting here in my pajamas!!!!
tomorrow we will head home...in the morning we are going to do our breakfast date on the terrace and then i have a tour of the spa, but then i know we will have to leave.....but with fond memories of the delta and all the tales she holds.
