i read this book a few weeks ago, and it was amazing. i'm not a big doug wilson fan, but he did some pretty good writing. we've had this book sitting on the shelf for a few years but i never thought i needed to read it. i picked it up, and it was so helpful. my only problem: what is wrong with the people on the front cover? the both look depressed, drunk, or asleep. they look like they've had a hard day, which is not the premise of the book.
but i do recommend the book for you married folks.
curt moore gave me this book, and he said it would be so great. the author is not a Christian but he said it would make me cry. i can't wait to start it but i need to finish the rest first.
this book was recommended to me by my awesome counselor, c-dawg, and it was so helpful. if any of you have any issues with your parents, read it. it's okay to read it. it's okay to say you read it.

traveling mercies by anne lamott. an incredible author, so real, so edgy. she is in love with Jesus but she will not lie to you about her struggles, her crazy life, her life as a single parent. read it.
she reminds me of emily hubbard in a wonderful way.

nancy guthrie is awesome. she had 2 children die under the age of 6 months because of the zellweger syndrome. this is not something that you get from loving renee zellweger/bridget jones. this is something you cannot detect or control, and she had tremendous loss. this book is so great, it's a study on the book of Job, an easy read, and i'm halfway through it. please read this. i know that everyone has suffered some sort of disappointment or loss, and this is just the right way to get through it. she knows what she's talking about.

this is my favorite non fiction author, but i haven't had time to read it. it's sitting in my bedroom but it's at the bottom of my list. however, i have read the entire series and she is a great british author. she shares my love for purses!
